*iHeart Little Red*

Lately I've been thinking a lot about storybooks. When I was little, my daddy sang Little Red Riding Hood to me all the time. It was by far my *favorite* color to wear (so much so that Husband now hates when I buy red things because it was all I used to wear). So when I was 4, my mom made me a Little Red Riding Hood outfit to wear to school for a special dress up day. I still have the cape! In the spirit of Little Red and all that is  lovely & crimson,  here are some images I've found inspiring lately...

*iHEART Sharon Montrose*

Hello, all! My apologies for being completely incommunicado for the past little bit! I have never had such a crazy holiday season. Not that anything was too terribly different. Really getting things done this year should have been much easier. I am working for myself, from home, and I'm done with school. So why in the world I could never find enough time to get things done I'll never know!

Anywho, one of the things that I've been playing around with is a new logotype for one of my blogland friends who is an amazing photographer. We actually were in school together but had never actually talked until recently... the interwebs have a fascinating way of bringing people together. Isn't that funny? Anyway, I will direct you to her blog a little later in the week, but, in the meantime, I thought I'd give you a taste of some of my *favorite* photographers/stylists... the first being Sharon Montrose.

Sharon's work mainly centers around animals, which I *love!* Her latest personal project is The Dog Photo Booth, which I think is hysterical. And that fascination with photobooth prints translates into her other sites as well. Also, as a designer, I cannot tell you how much I heart the *fonts* she uses & dig the Black Apple portraits in the background of one of my *fav* shots!

You can read Sharon Montrose's blog by clicking the picture above and buy her prints in the animal print shop.

*a thankful heart*

3 Reasons I'm sure I have the
most *amazing* husband ever:

He listens to my crazy music... including this version of the Charleston that for some reason always makes me giggle.

On Christmas Eve, despite the fact that Husband has been known (on several occasions) to make references to the fact that I may have a 60 year old man trapped somewhere in my brain, he got me the most beautiful gray cardigan in my stocking... that and a rad dinosaur that I named Wilson (ya know, after Woodrow). He growls.

Today, I was sitting on the couch trying to finish up the detailing on Husband's new scarf when he called me and told me to turn on the radio. I've got him listening to NPR on Saturday mornings, and today This American Life was airing their Sedaris Christmas; Sedaris is my *very favorite!* How sweet is that?

*a little christmas eve-ness*

So, last night while Christmas shopping, I bought a new iron. (*Note to the men in my life, buying anything that helps with everyday chores for Christmas will not make a lady excited!) Now, I don't iron. I also don't plan on laying on the floor in a gorgeous green and white party dress next to my iron. But it is pink, and therefore I found it pretty exciting. Maybe not this exciting, but still how awesome is this Hoover ad???

Some more wicked cool, holiday-ish-ness...

*eeshk. 2 days!*

From a few weeks ago, but I'd love it if Christmas looked like this.

Finally! Back to the blog! My absence has been long, but I've learned from past experience that it is best to stay away from the interwebs when trying to be productive :/

Chicago was more *lovely* than I could possibly say and by next week I will get some sketchbook pages scanned in for you to see some of the more fun accounts of our trip. Here is a random pic of Husband & me all fancied up before going out to dinner on Friday (and me with a super ridiculous expression but at least you can see the pretty blue sparkles on my new dress!)...

Tonight, I've been wrapping gifts like crazy. I'm working on a few handmade gifts which I, of course, can't put show you yet because the recipients will see. However, here is a bag I sent off to my friend Cassie this past week before we left for Chicago. I've gotten so many ideas for new bags and clothes. I foresee lots of designing/sewing in my new year.

Today, I found myself completely overwhelmed with holiday stress. Getting sick right before we left set me back, but tonight I'm feeling much better. I'm listening to this episode of Craftsanity, wrapping gifts and making fancy tags. I know presents are not the true meaning of Christmas, but I sure do feel more in the mood now that they are all bought!

A small preview of one of our Christmas displays. I'll have to share more tomorrow!

*Happy Christmas Eve Eve!*

*chicago*

Pardon my absence, but I've been ridiculously stressed trying to get ready for the big trip! Had a crazy case of bronchitis this past week, which has not assisted me in getting ready for a super big vacate or making the necessary Christmas preparations before going out of town. Ah well! No worries... By the time you read this I will be enjoying the big city. With it's super tall buildings, yellow taxi cabs, gorgeous shops, outrageous sculptures, bustling people, street bands, and snow that rises just like in a snow globe. I'll see you soon!
Until then, xoxo - Hannah B :)
