*it's a small world*

It was on this day in 1966 that *It's a Small World* opened in Disneyland after spending it's 1st run in New York for the 1964 World's Fair. I think it is so cool in this video when Walt Disney says, "Children all over the world have one thing in common: a *love* of laughter." My *favorite* thing about the actual ride is, of course, the Mary Blair look...
But the element I thought was most unique (not to mention beautiful) when I started researching the ride a bit was something they actually couldn't transport to Anaheim. It was this 120-foot tower of the four winds designed by Rolly Crump.
You can learn more about *It's a Small World* (& lots of other Disney stuff!) by visiting this site.

The shop update has been postponed because all of this rain has made taking pictures impossibly dreary. Perhaps tomorrow! Also, don't forget to visit the new food-ish blog! I finally posted a link on the right!
Hope you are enjoying a *lovely* Friday evening!
