I must admit that this past weekend was one of the weirdest on record here at the Slaughter house. In case you haven't heard, since it's gotten little national coverage, the middle of our state is underwater right now in one of the worst disasters to hit middle Tennessee since the Civil War. Last Friday my bestest from college came in to enjoy a weekend of art shows and Kathy Griffin only to end up stuck here due to crazy flooding. My inlaws, traveling home, got stuck on the other side of the state when they learned that the highway was simply shut down because houses were floating into cars.

I address this for 2 reasons, #1 I thought this was an absolutely amazing (and short enough for my attention span) article on a blog normally dedicated to hockey fodder and #2 if you'd like to donate to the Red Cross's disaster relief fund this is a quick link. I can only make a little gesture at this point, but at least it is something, right?
