*blog finds :: edition 1*

This post was supposed to go up last night, but blogger was acting so crazy it just had to wait until today. I suppose that brings me to a *special announcement!* Next week will be filled with new sites, new projects and new fun things for you! I am *beyond* excited about some new plans in the works and can't wait to get start sharing them with you. For today, however, I am beginning a new segment on le blog to share some of the *amazing* new blogs I've been finding. Let me know how you like it.

Today's blogs are centered around men & fashion. While these are he-geared, I must confess, I am totally jealous of magazines like Esquire & GQ, and I *love* design geared toward men! I have a secret dream of becoming a haberdasher when I grow up so this sort of stuff is right up my alley. So many times, our style is dictated by those around the globe, but you have to love when manly men are just as proud of great design and good grooming as they are to be rugged patriots who tout quintessentially American styles.

twitter :: http://twitter.com/UnabashedlyPrep
blogger :: F.E. Castleberry
why i *love* it :: Unabashedly Prep is an amazing blog centered around Castleberry's adoration of Northeastern culture and the WASP lifestyle. He writes from Dallas, Texas but could probably teach residents of the Hamptons a thing or 2 about class. This blog was put on my *daily reads* list the moment I discovered it!
where to start :: click on the *Prep Essentials* category to start with the basics like, "Why do I love my Sperrys unconditionally?"

twitter :: http://twitter.com/valetmag
blogger :: quite a few 'in the know'
why i *love* it :: Think Esquire & GQ without the naked ladies, annoying ad cards and the annoyingly flimsy pages. Valet is a lifestyle blog dedicated for men, but even if there is no 'he' in your life, you'll love it strictly for the great design & art.
where to start :: I now start every morning with The Morning Report on my Google Reader. Another tip is this: If you're finding the overload above the fold too overwhelming at first, scroll all the way to the bottom and look through subject by subject.

blog :: http://www.acontinuouslean.com/
twitter :: http://twitter.com/acontinuouslean
why i *love* it :: A Continuous Lean is sort of like a collection of really awesome stuff you want to take the time to look through, read and study. In fact, the about page says that the blog is about "things... American things."
where to start :: I would start by looking through the past week of posts and just seeing what you can discover. Also, be sure to check out The American list, a collection of stylish made in America items that I can actually appreciate... not like that stars & stripes bikini at the beach last week.

twitter :: http://twitter.com/socialprimer
why i *love* it :: Ray writes on everything from manners to liquor. There's a really great Q&A section on the site, and Ray has even opened a shop full of classic monogrammed goods fit for any preppy gentlemen. However, my favorite new thing would probably be the line of reversible bow ties he just designed in conjunction with Brooks Brothers.
where to start :: This article on the Star Spangled Banner. This article on delivering the perfect toast. This article on classic summer styles.
*Happy Reading!*
